The third annual PWC Great Zuurberg Trek mountain bike race, of which
a section is cycled in Addo Elephant National Park, took place on the
weekend of 3 – 5 June.
All aspects of the event ran smoothly, with all participants finishing before
the official cut-off time this year. It seems the organisers are improving the
race year after year, with feedback from riders being that this was by far
the best year to-date. The section along Zuurberg’s five-hour horse trail,
nicknamed “The seven dwarfs” again proved to be one of the highlights of
The Park’s team, made up of Regional Admin and Finance Manager,
Esther Truter and her husband participated for the second year in a row,
and did very well.
Well done to the Truters, and I’m sure we’ll see them enter again next year
as they try to better their times yet again.
